OGITECH Issues Disclaimer Over Fake Fire Image Circulating Online

The Management of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has issued an official disclaimer regarding a photograph currently circulating on social media, purportedly showing the school gate on fire.

The Institute clarified that the image is entirely fake, AI-generated, and did not originate from OGITECH. It does not depict any real or past incident within the school premises.

In a statement, the Management warned the public, including students, parents, staff, alumni, and other stakeholders, to disregard the image and any associated narratives, labeling them as false, misleading, and intended to tarnish the institution’s reputation.

The Institute further cautioned that individuals or platforms involved in creating, sharing, or circulating the image may face legal action under Nigerian laws related to misinformation, cybercrime, and defamation.

OGITECH advised the public to rely only on official communication channels for verified updates and information.
