The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has entered into a strategic partnership with Nestlé Nigeria Plc aimed at strengthening graduate employability and aligning academic training with industry expectations.

The Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, disclosed this on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, while receiving a delegation from Nestlé Nigeria Plc at the institution. He described the collaboration as part of the school’s broader strategy to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace demands by equipping students with relevant, industry-driven competencies.

Dr. Oluseye stated that the partnership is expected to expand access to internships, workplace exposure, and long-term career development opportunities for students and recent graduates.

Speaking on behalf of the Rector, the Deputy Rector, Dr. Oluyemi Odutola, attributed the institution’s growing attractiveness to corporate organisations to strong leadership and an expanding Career Centre ecosystem. He noted that this development has continued to position OGITECH as a viable talent pipeline for multinational employers.

As part of the engagement, representatives of Nestlé Nigeria Plc conducted interviews for 25 female National Diploma graduates selected from various departments within the institution. The candidates emerged from a pool of over 100 applicants who participated in a competitive online assessment held on March 20, 2026.

The leader of the Nestlé delegation, Mrs. Ojuolape Makinde, commended OGITECH for its proactive approach to graduate development and workforce readiness. She expressed satisfaction with the quality of candidates presented and reaffirmed Nestlé’s commitment to sustaining and expanding the partnership.

The Career Centre Coordinator, Dr. Ayodele Olomieja, described the collaboration as a long-term intervention designed to enhance student employability and strengthen institutional linkages with industry. He noted that the initiative would ensure graduates are not only academically qualified but also practically prepared for the labour market.

He also commended the institution’s management for sustained support, which he said has enabled the Career Centre to function effectively as a bridge between students and employers.

Dr. Oluseye further acknowledged the support of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in upgrading and renovating the Career Centre facilities, stating that the improved infrastructure has enhanced the institution’s capacity to deliver on career development initiatives.

The partnership is positioned as a strategic step toward deepening industry-academic collaboration and improving graduate outcomes in an increasingly competitive employment landscape.
