The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has sealed a strategic partnership with Nestlé Nigeria Plc aimed at enhancing the employability of its graduates and strengthening the link between academic training and industry requirements.
The Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, disclosed this on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, while receiving representatives of Nestlé at the institution. He explained that the collaboration is part of the institution’s broader commitment to preparing students for the realities of the labour market by equipping them with relevant, industry driven skills.
According to him, the partnership will not only expose students to real world of work, but also create sustainable pathways for employment, internships, and professional development.
Representing the Rector, the Deputy Rector, Dr. Oluyemi Odutola, attributed the growing success of the institution’s Career Center to the visionary leadership of the management. He noted that the enabling environment created by the leadership has continued to attract multinational organisations, thereby opening up more opportunities for students and recent graduates to secure meaningful employment.
As part of the ongoing collaboration, Nestlé representatives conducted interviews with 25 female National Diploma graduates drawn from different departments within the institution. The candidates were shortlisted from a pool of over 100 applicants who had earlier participated in a competitive online assessment conducted on March 20, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the Nestlé delegation, Mrs. Ojuolape Makinde, commended OGITECH for its proactive approach to student development and workforce readiness. She expressed satisfaction with the quality of candidates presented and assured the institution of Nestlé’s commitment to sustaining and expanding the partnership.
Also speaking, the Career Center Coordinator, Dr. Ayodele Olomieja, expressed optimism about the long term impact of the collaboration. He emphasized that the partnership is designed to be continuous, with both institutions working closely to ensure that students are not only academically sound but also industry ready.
Dr. Olomieja further commended the management of the institution for its unwavering support in making the Career Center fully functional and impactful. He noted that the Center has become a vital platform for connecting students with employers and facilitating career growth.
The Rector also acknowledged the intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in the renovation and upgrading of the Career Center facilities. He stated that the improved infrastructure has significantly enhanced the Center’s capacity to deliver on its mandate and support initiatives such as the partnership with Nestlé.
The collaboration between OGITECH and Nestlé Nigeria Plc represents a significant step in bridging the gap between education and employment, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who are well-equipped to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
