OGITECH Rector Commends FRSC Special Marshal on Road Safety Drive

The Rector of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshal for its sustained commitment to humanitarian service and road safety management.

The Rector of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshal for its sustained commitment to humanitarian service and road safety management.

The commendation was made on Monday, April 13, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the OGITECH Unit of the Special Marshal to the Rector’s office, where the team formally introduced its structure, operations, and mandate to the institution’s management.

Dr. Oluseye praised the unit for its discipline, selflessness, and coordinated approach to ensuring safety within and around the campus environment. He assured them of the institution’s continued support and encouraged them to sustain their efforts, noting that their contributions remain valuable to the institute’s safety framework.

He further emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining order and reducing road-related risks within academic communities.

Speaking during the engagement, the Unit Coordinator, Engr. Adeola Adelakun, explained that the Special Marshal operates strictly on a humanitarian mandate, including rapid response to road accidents, traffic management, and initial emergency stabilisation before handing over to relevant authorities.

The Unit Assistant Secretary, Mr. Adebayo Gbadebo, also highlighted the historical role and contributions of the Special Marshal Unit to OGITECH’s safety architecture. He stressed the importance of their presence in promoting discipline and order on the roads, while appealing for management support in facilitating statutory national dues to improve operational efficiency.

The visit ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration aimed at enhancing safety within the campus and its surrounding communities.
