OGITECH Unveils New Sports Jerseys, Reaffirms Commitment to Sports Development

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has unveiled newly designed Home and Away jerseys for its sports teams as part of efforts to strengthen sports development and enhance the fitness and performance of student athletes.
The unveiling ceremony was held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Rector’s Office, where the Directorate of Sports formally presented the new kits to the Rector, Dr Abiodun Oluseye. The delegation was led by the Acting Director of Sports, Arc. Oginni Olalekan, alongside the Institute’s Coach, Mr Steve Johnson.
Speaking at the event, Dr Oluseye expressed satisfaction with the initiative and commended the Directorate of Sports for its efforts towards promoting sporting excellence at the Institute.
The Rector stressed the importance of sustained investment in sports, noting that providing quality facilities and equipment would create greater opportunities for students while contributing to the overall growth and development of OGITECH.
According to him, initiatives aimed at improving sporting activities would help build a vibrant sports culture capable of producing outstanding performances in competitions.
“It can always get better by doing all this. This will pave the way for greater opportunities in sports activities and contribute immensely to the growth and development of our Institute,” he said.
Earlier, the Acting Director of Sports, Arc. Oginni Olalekan, commended the Rector for his continued support for sports development and efforts to create an enabling environment for student athletes to thrive.
He described the new jerseys as evidence of the progress being recorded in sports under the present administration.
“This jersey, provided by Dr Oluseye, is a testament that the Institute is growing and we will continue to grow more. We appreciate his support in giving attention to sports here at OGITECH,” he stated.
The newly unveiled Home and Away jerseys are expected to be used by OGITECH teams in inter-institutional competitions, leagues and other sporting engagements beginning from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The unveiling was witnessed by members of the Institute’s Management team, including the Deputy Rector, Dr Odutola Oluyemi, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr Aminu Sulaiman.
The initiative is expected to further encourage sports participation among students and support the Institute’s broader efforts towards holistic student development.
