Rector of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH), Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye, has been honoured with the ACE Excellence Award as an Outstanding Administrator and Iconic Educationist in recognition of his contributions to educational development in Nigeria.

The award ceremony was held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Watercress Hotel and Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together industry leaders, philanthropists, and professionals recognised for impactful service across various sectors.

According to the organisers, the award was presented in acknowledgement of Dr Oluseye’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing technical and polytechnic education in Nigeria.

The ACE Excellence Award is designed to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service, innovation, and influence in their respective fields, particularly in education and human capital development.

In his acceptance remarks, delivered through his Personal Assistant, Mr Hosu Mewhenu Peter, Dr Oluseye expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming technical education in Nigeria.

He emphasized the need for Nigeria to prioritise technical and vocational education as a driver of national development, noting that OGITECH is working to position itself as a leading institution in innovation-driven learning and skills development.

He also highlighted ongoing efforts within the institution, including the establishment of robotics and innovation technology centres aimed at strengthening practical learning and technological capacity among students.

The organiser of the ACE Awards, Otunba Olumide Adeleke, stated that the recognition process is strictly merit-based and intended to encourage excellence among Nigerian leaders.

The event also honoured several other notable personalities, including Princess Bolanle Ogundiran, CSP Murphy Akanbi Salami of SWAT Ogun State Command, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, former Ogun State Commissioner and industrialist, Mr Yemi Shonde, Founder and CEO of Yes FM Ibadan, and Prof Fosudo, a veteran actor and academic.

The ceremony concluded with networking sessions and goodwill messages from stakeholders who commended the awardees for their contributions to national development.
