OOU Announces Orientation and Matriculation Ceremony for Freshmen

According to the University, the Matriculation Ceremony for newly admitted students will hold on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye. The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m. and will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, alongside other Principal Officers of the University. Provosts and Deans of Colleges and Faculties are expected to formally present their freshmen for the mandatory oath-taking exercise.
In preparation for the ceremony, all freshmen are required to pay a non-refundable matriculation fee of Two Thousand Five Hundred Naira (₦2,500.00) through the University’s official payment portal at https://payments.oouagoiwoye.edu.ng. Evidence of payment will be required for the collection of academic gowns at the respective College or Faculty Offices.

Meanwhile, the Orientation Programme for newly admitted students has been scheduled for Monday, January 6, and Tuesday, January 7, 2026. The programme will take place at the same venue—the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall—starting at 8:00 a.m. each day. The Vice-Chancellor is expected to formally declare the orientation open, with members of the University Management in attendance.
The University has emphasized that participation in both the Orientation Programme and the Matriculation Ceremony is compulsory for all freshmen. Students are also mandated to be fully robed in their matriculation gowns and seated at the venue by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the matriculation ceremony.
Members of the University community and newly admitted students are advised to take note of these dates and comply fully with all outlined directives.
