Osinusi Child Health Foundation Endows Paediatric Ward at UCH
The Osinusi Child Health Foundation officially endowed the South West 2 paediatric ward of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, in celebration of the 80th birthday of Professor Kikelomo Osinusi on 13th November 2025.

Professor Biobele Brown, Head of the Paediatric Department, described Prof. Osinusi as a dedicated teacher who balances justice with mercy and commended her longstanding philanthropy, noting that she has been supporting the paediatric department since 2007.
Prof. Kikelomo Osinusi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life, her family, and the hospital management for the opportunity, describing the endowment as a lasting legacy for the Osinusi family.
Dr. 'Kemi Adekanmbi, Secretary of the Foundation, highlighted the enduring relationship between the family and the hospital, explaining that the choice of the paediatric ward reflects Prof. Osinusi’s strong interest in child welfare and her concern for vulnerable children. She detailed the components of the endowment, which include a complete solar-inverter system for uninterrupted power supply, extensive plumbing upgrades with two reservoir tanks to ensure constant water, painting and beautification of the ward, and enhancements to the ward’s physical infrastructure.

The Foundation also pledged an annual donation of five million naira for the maintenance of the ward, along with an additional five million naira yearly to support indigent paediatric patients.
In his response, Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, commended the Foundation for embracing partnership and participation—key principles among the hospital’s 6Ps and aligned with the management’s focus on patient comfort and staff welfare. Prof. Otegbayo sincerely appreciated the Osinusi family for sharing the hospital’s vision for excellence, appealed for proper use and maintenance of the Kikelomo Osinusi Ward, and encouraged philanthropists globally to emulate their commitment.
