Peter University Secures Full NUC Accreditation for 11 Academic Programmes Across Multiple Faculties

Following a rigorous, nationwide evaluation of academic programmes in Nigerian universities, one of the fastest growing Universities, Peter University has successfully achieved the highest possible distinction: Full Accreditation status for all 11 academic programmes presented for assessment.

This unprecedented achievement signifies a landmark milestone in the institution’s history, demonstrating an institutional commitment to excellence that meets and exceeds national standards. The result attests to the quality of academic delivery, staff competency, robust infrastructure, and a sustained culture of continuous improvement, placing Peter University among the elite institutions in the Nigerian University System (NUS).

The NUC accreditation exercise is a statutory, peer-review process designed to evaluate and certify the quality of academic programmes and the teaching staff of each university. It is the most critical mechanism to ensure that Nigeria’s graduates remain globally competitive.

The 2025 October/November exercise was conducted using a fully digitised reporting instrument, an innovation aimed at ensuring a seamless and objective process. 

The eleven programmes presented for accreditation include:

3. Computer Science

4. Software Engineering 

5. International Relations and Diplomacy

6. Mass Communication

7. Biochemistry 

8. Nursing Science 

9. Public Health

10. Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution 

11. Criminology and Security Studies

The stellar results were driven by outstanding performances across the NUC’s core assessment areas.
