Prof. Eboh to UNIDEL Stakeholders: Move Beyond Titles, Deliver Value Under PROJECT RAISE

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, UNIDEL, Agbor, Professor Eric Eboh, has charged newly appointed and re-appointed Deans, Directors and Chairpersons to move beyond titles and become value contributors capable of delivering measurable results under the institution’s PROJECT RAISE UNIDEL Strategy.

Professor Eboh gave the charge on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Council Chambers of the University during an interactive stakeholders’ meeting designed to deepen the implementation of his administration’s transformation strategy.

The meeting marked a significant step in the Vice-Chancellor’s determination to translate PROJECT RAISE UNIDEL from an institutional vision into a practical framework for academic excellence, effective administration, innovation and sustainable institutional development.

Addressing the newly constituted team, Professor Eboh said the appointments were not merely rewards or designations, but strategic responsibilities requiring commitment, creativity, collaboration and measurable accomplishments.

“You must be a value contributor. There is a difference between responsibility and title. Look at the problem and see positively how you can find a solution,” the Vice-Chancellor declared.

He urged the university’s leadership team to abandon silo-driven approaches and embrace teamwork, stressing that the success of UNIDEL’s transformation would depend substantially on the ability of its key officers to work collaboratively towards clearly defined institutional goals.

Professor Eboh explained that every faculty, directorate and centre must identify its challenges, establish priorities and develop concrete milestones capable of contributing to the overall advancement of the University. 

According to him, UNIDEL must position itself as an institution where academic knowledge is matched by practical competence, innovation and employability.

To strengthen accountability, he announced that stakeholders’ meetings would henceforth be held quarterly to assess progress, review challenges, measure achievements and recalibrate strategies where necessary.

Responding on behalf of the stakeholders, Dr. Friday Akporherhe expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for the opportunity to serve on the administration’s transformation team. He assured the Vice-Chancellor of their commitment to contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the University.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Ijeh; Registrar, Dr. Esther Akpojuvie; Bursar, Dr. Sunny Ikeogwu; and University Librarian, Dr. Vera Okonoko, among other senior university officials.
