Prof. Makut Receives Prestigious Fellowship Award at Nasarawa State University

Professor Makwin Danladi Makut, a distinguished Professor of Applied and Environmental Microbiology at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has been conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM).

The honor was bestowed upon him on September 16, 2025, during the 47th Annual Scientific Conference of the NSM held at the University of Cross River, Calabar.

As a renowned expert in microbiology, Prof. Makut has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the use of microorganisms for the production of vital bioproducts such as bioenergy, biofertilizers, xanthan gum, and probiotics. His research has far-reaching implications for sustainable development.

Prof. Makut currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences and Director of the Centre for Bioenergy at Nasarawa State University, Keffi. His leadership and mentorship have been instrumental in shaping the next generation of scientists and researchers.
