Professor Kabiru Paramole Elected Dean of LASU Faculty of Arts
Professor Kabiru Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Lagos State University (LASU).
Professor Kabiru Olawale Paramole of the Department of Religions and Peace Studies has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Lagos State University (LASU).
The election was conducted on July 14, 2026, at the New TETFund Postgraduate Hall 1, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
Professor Paramole secured 51 votes in a closely contested election to defeat Professor Isaac Adeniyi Yekini-Ajenifuja of the Department of Music, who polled 47 votes. Three votes were declared void, bringing the total number of votes cast to 101.
Announcing the outcome, the Deputy Registrar, Faculty Officer and Returning Officer, Mr. Samuel Gbedozin, declared Professor Paramole duly elected as the Dean-designate of the Faculty of Arts.

The outgoing Dean, Professor Ayo Ayodele, is expected to complete his tenure on July 31, 2026, while Professor Paramole will officially assume office on August 1, 2026.
Following the announcement of the results, Professor Ayodele congratulated the Dean-designate and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the Faculty of Arts and advance its tradition of academic excellence and development.
