Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi Appoints Professor Nancy Ngunan Ugbagir As Acting University Librarian

The Governing Council of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has approved the appointment of Professor Nancy Ngunan Ugbagir as the Acting University Librarian.

This was contained in a press release issued by the Office of the Registrar, Barnabas Terfa Hemba, MAUA, on Tuesday, 4th August, 2026.

The University Community was informed that the appointment was made at the Council’s 157th Meeting, following the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past University Librarian, Professor Innocent Isa Ekoja.  

Professor Ugbagir’s appointment takes effect from Tuesday, 4th August, 2026.

The release described Professor Ugbagir as a distinguished scholar and accomplished administrator with a wealth of experience in university librarianship and academic service. The University Council and Management expressed confidence that she will provide purposeful leadership and further strengthen the services and development of the University Library.

The University Community was further informed that efforts are ongoing to appoint a substantive University Librarian in accordance with the extant laws and regulations governing the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, on behalf of the Council, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of the University, congratulated Professor Ugbagir on her appointment and wished her a successful tenure.

Members of the University Community are enjoined to accord her the necessary cooperation and support in the discharge of her responsibilities.
