Sankera Delegation Pays Solidarity Visit to MOAUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Alabar

A delegation from Sankera on Friday, 27th February, 2026 paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, in a show of solidarity and appreciation following his appointment.

The delegation, led by Hon. Dr. Richard Gbande, conveyed the gratitude of the people of Sankera to the Executive Governor of Benue State and Visitor to the University, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for considering their son worthy of the prestigious position. 

Hon. Gbande noted that Professor Alabar’s appointment has brought pride and renewed hope to the Sankera region, describing it as a testament to his competence, integrity and years of dedicated service in academia.

He assured the Vice-Chancellor of the unwavering support and cooperation of the people of Sankera, emphasizing their collective commitment to the success of his administration.

According to him, the delegation’s visit was not only to congratulate the Vice-Chancellor but to also encourage him as he takes on the responsibility of leading the institution to greater heights.

In his response, Professor Alabar expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him. He thanked the delegation for their solidarity and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the university with diligence, transparency and inclusiveness. The Vice-Chancellor also pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor and the people of Benue State.
