The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, Professor Samuel Oladipo, has urged staff of the university’s International School to prioritise continuous self-development and professional growth to sustain academic excellence.

Oladipo gave the charge during the 30th anniversary celebration of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education International School (TASFUEDIS), Igbeba, describing the milestone as a testament to three decades of commitment to education, character development, discipline and the preparation of young people for meaningful contributions to society.

He stressed that the school's continued relevance depended not only on its past achievements but also on the ability of its staff to update their knowledge and skills in response to changing educational demands.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that TASFUEDIS had remained an integral part of the university's educational vision since its establishment, providing students with opportunities to acquire knowledge, develop their talents, build confidence and cultivate the character needed to navigate an increasingly complex world.

Highlighting the school's recent academic performance, Oladipo disclosed that its 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in 27 subjects, while English Language recorded a 98 per cent pass rate. He added that four students scored above 300 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

He attributed the achievements to the dedication of teachers, commitment of students and support from parents and guardians, urging the school community to sustain the performance.

Speaking on the school's history, the Principal, Mrs Adebola Omoyele, said TASFUEDIS had grown from a modest beginning with eight students in 1996 into an institution that had graduated more than 2,000 students now working across various professions.

Omoyele explained that the school was established following approval by the Governing Council of the then Ogun State College of Education, after the proposal to establish a secondary school was first considered in 1994.

She also recognised the contributions of successive vice-chancellors, provosts, principals, teachers, governing boards, parents, alumni and other stakeholders who had supported the institution over the years.

Beyond academics, Omoyele highlighted the school's achievements in science and technology, recalling its emergence as the national winner of the Schlumberger Excellence in Education Development (SEED) Nigerian Academy of Science Contest in 2014 with its “Water Powered Automobile” project. The achievement earned the school international recognition and a trip to France.

She further disclosed that students had developed a green-energy production room to supplement electricity supplied by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC). The school had also installed solar panels and facilitated the production of drones for aerial surveillance.

To strengthen students' digital skills, the school had partnered with Tech Talent Academy (TTA) to provide additional training and technology-based learning opportunities.

The principal also outlined infrastructural improvements recorded by the institution, including:
