Teamwork Central to Successful Implementation of Institution's Strategic Plan — VC

Teamwork is key to the successful implementation of an institution's strategic plan, the Vice-Chancellor of Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLUK), Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, has said.

Prof. Yakasai stated this while declaring open a one-day workshop on the University's Strategic Plan organised for management staff on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

He noted that realising the University's objectives requires strong collaboration between the academic and administrative arms of the institution. He stressed the need for effective communication, minimisation of unnecessary duplication of efforts, and ensuring that decisions are consistently aligned with the broader interests of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor said the implementation of the Strategic Plan requires more than policy statements, but clear responsibilities, adequate resources, effective coordination, timely decision-making, monitoring and accountability.

He charged management to provide leadership to create a culture of performance, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement. He encouraged management staff to ensure that those under their supervision view the Strategic Plan not as an additional administrative burden, but as a framework that enables them to organise collective efforts towards clearly defined institutional goals.

Prof. Yakasai also called on management to ensure the sustainability of the University by pursuing institutional expansion and development, with particular attention to the sustainability of its academic programmes, infrastructure, human resources and finances.
