In a proactive move to fortify campus safety, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja), Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, yesterday led a high-level delegation on a series of strategic security visits across the Federal Capital Territory.

The tour targeted key military and police formations to ensure a seamless security umbrella for students, staff, and the university’s expansive land assets.

The delegation visited three critical security hubs:

176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada: Received by Lieutenant Colonel Joshua Oladimeji Ajongbo.

Police Area Command, Gwagwalada: Hosted by the Area Commander, ACP Chinyere Akalugo.

167 Special Forces Battalion, Tunga Maje: Received by Lt Col Babatunde Samuel.

Professor Fawehinmi emphasized that the visit was essential to maintaining a stable environment conducive to research and learning. A primary focus of the discussion was the protection of the University’s lawfully acquired assets against encroachment and unauthorized activities.
