UNILAG Secures Full Accreditation for 11 Academic Programmes
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has achieved a 100 per cent success rate in the 2025 accreditation exercise, with all 11 academic programmes presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies receiving full accreditation.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has achieved a 100 per cent success rate in the 2025 accreditation exercise, with all 11 academic programmes presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies receiving full accreditation.
According to the university, the achievement reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, quality education, continuous improvement and global standards in teaching, research and professional development. It also assures students, parents, employers and other stakeholders of the quality and relevance of its academic programmes.
The programmes granted full accreditation are:
- Accounting
- Taxation
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Radiography
- German
- Linguistics
- Home Economics
- Library and Information Science
- Special Needs Education
- Petroleum and Gas Engineering
- Economics and Development Studies
The university stated that the accreditation is valid for five years, with all 11 programmes retaining their accredited status until 2030. It noted that accreditation serves as a key benchmark for assessing curriculum relevance, teaching quality, staffing, learning resources, governance and overall institutional effectiveness.
UNILAG added that the accomplishment reflects the dedication of its academic and administrative staff and reinforces its commitment to producing future-ready graduates while advancing innovation, research and community impact.
