UNILAG Senate Honours Professors Fakinlede and Unah Ahead of Retirement

 The Senate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) held a special session on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, to honour two long-serving academics, Professor Omotayo Abayomi Fakinlede and Distinguished Professor Jim Unah, as they prepare for retirement. 

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, praised the pair for their illustrious service to the institution and nation.

Professor Omotayo Fakinlede (Department of Systems Engineering) retires on April 1, 2026.

Distinguished Professor Jim Unah (Department of Philosophy), a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) and expert in Phenomenology, retires on April 15, 2026. 

Both professors, who were lauded for their significant contributions to their respective fields, expressed gratitude to the university community for the opportunity to mentor future generations.
