UNIMED Honours Staff Dr. Mercy Iwaola With Jhpiego Excellence Award for Healthcare Mentorship

A staff member of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Dr. Mercy Olufunke Iwaola, has been honoured with a Jhpiego Award of Excellence for her exceptional contributions to healthcare development and clinical mentorship in Ondo State.

Dr. Mercy Olufunke Iwaola of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has received a Jhpiego Award of Excellence for her outstanding contributions to healthcare development, clinical mentorship, and capacity building in Ondo State.

A staff of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Dr (Mrs) Mercy Olufunke Iwaola has bagged an award of excellence from Jhpiego.

The award, according to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr Isaac Oluyi was in recognition of Mrs Iwaola’s outstanding contributions to healthcare development and clinical mentorship in Ondo State.

The award was presented by the President and Chief Executive Officer of Jhpiego, Dr. Allyson Bear, during the AMPLI End-of-Project dissemination event organized by the Ondo State Ministry of Health in collaboration with Jhpiego.

Dr. Iwaola received the award in recognition of her exceptional service as a Clinical Mentor (Master Trainer), acknowledging her outstanding commitment to capacity building, mentorship and excellence in clinical practice, all of which contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the AMPLI project in the state.

According to Oluyi, the recognition further underscores the quality of the University’s academic and professional workforce and reinforces UNIMED’s commitment to excellence in medical education, research, clinical practice and community service.

Reacting to the honour, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe congratulated Dr. Iwaola on the well-deserved recognition, describing the award as a testament to her dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery.
