UNIPORT VC Pledges Support for Digital Transformation as Computing Faculty Visits
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, on Monday, August 10, 2026, received a delegation from the Faculty of Computing, led by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Chidiebere Ugwu, on a courtesy visit.

The visit was aimed at formally congratulating the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment and assuring him of the Faculty’s support and commitment to the success of his administration.
The delegation also used the opportunity to highlight some of the challenges affecting the growth and effective functioning of the Faculty.
Speaking, Professor Princewill emphasised the importance of digitalising the University, noting that technology would play a critical role in the development and advancement of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the delegation that his administration would work towards addressing the identified needs and creating the necessary environment for the Faculty of Computing to thrive.

He reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that would strengthen the University’s digital capacity and support academic excellence.
