University of Abuja Inducts 66 New Doctors of Veterinary Medicine
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Abuja, has officially inducted 66 newly qualified Doctors of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Class of 2025, into the profession under the auspices of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Abuja, has officially inducted 66 newly qualified Doctors of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Class of 2025, into the profession under the auspices of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).

The induction ceremony, held today during the 12th Oath-Taking and Second White Coat Ceremony, drew prominent dignitaries from the education and veterinary sectors. Notable attendees included Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Matthew Adamu, President of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria and former Vice-Chancellor of the University, along with senior University and ministry officials.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, commended the inductees for reaching a “major professional milestone” and urged them to uphold the highest ethical standards in the practice of veterinary medicine.

He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to excellence, emphasizing its dedication to producing veterinary graduates equipped with the skills, knowledge, and professional integrity necessary for national development.
