Gift Garuba has been awarded a First‑Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Taxation from the University of Benin, Nigeria — a remarkable achievement that surpassed her initial goal of graduating with a Second‑Class Upper division.

In an interview, Ms. Garuba recounted that she began her university journey aiming for a modest Second‑Class Upper grade, often limiting herself to what she perceived as an “average” level when faced with challenges. Although she initially regarded a First‑Class degree as unattainable, her academic performance began to improve steadily.

A setback occurred during her second year when her grades dropped sharply.
