University of Ibadan Releases Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Ibadan (UI) has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, outlining key dates for both new and returning undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Undergraduate Students – First Semester

  • Online registration for new students begins Monday, 19th January 2026, alongside a virtual orientation scheduled from 19th–20th January.
  • Virtual lectures will run for five weeks, from Wednesday, 21st January to Friday, 27th February.
  • Physical resumption for new students is set for Monday, 2nd March, followed by physical orientation from 3rd–4th March.
  • Returning students will resume on Thursday, 5th March, coinciding with the commencement of their online registration.
  • The matriculation ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, 11th March.
  • Eleven weeks of teaching, revision, and continuous assessment will run from Monday, 9th March to Friday, 22nd May.
  • GES examinations are scheduled for Monday, 25th May to Friday, 29th May.
  • Faculty-specific examinations will run in two phases: 1st phase from Monday, 1st June to Friday, 12th June, and 2nd phase from Monday, 15th June to Friday, 26th June.

Undergraduate Students – Second Semester

  • Teaching, revision, and continuous assessment will span 11 weeks from Monday, 13th July to Friday, 9th October.
  • Processing of first semester examination results is scheduled for Monday, 3rd August to Friday, 14th August.
  • Faculty Boards of Examiners will meet from 17th–28th August, with Senate consideration of non-final year results on 15th–16th September.
  • GES examinations are slated for 12th–16th October, followed by faculty-specific examinations in two phases: 19th–30th October and 2nd–13th November.
  • Result processing and Faculty Board meetings for final and non-final year results are scheduled from 16th November to 11th December, with Senate meetings to consider results from 28th–30th December.

Postgraduate Students
Postgraduate students are expected to resume alongside undergraduate students.

The 2026/2027 academic session will commence on Monday, 18th January 2027.
