University of Ibadan Sets 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony Date

The University of Ibadan has officially announced that the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony for fresh students will hold on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, at the International Conference Centre. This milestone marks the formal induction of new students into the "Tower of Learning."

The University of Ibadan has officially announced that the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony for fresh students will hold on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, at the International Conference Centre. This milestone marks the formal induction of new students into the "Tower of Learning."

Key Guidelines for Matriculants:

Mandatory Attendance: All fresh students must attend. Parents and visitors will follow proceedings online. No food or social gatherings are permitted at the venue.

Academic Outfits: Students must collect gowns and caps from their Faculties starting Monday, 9th March 2026, presenting proof of payment. Outfits must be returned within 48 hours post-ceremony; late returns incur N1,000/day, and damaged gowns/caps incur fines of N20,000 and N10,000, respectively.

Seating & Arrival: Students should arrive by 8:00 a.m. and be seated by 9:30 a.m. Latecomers will not be admitted once the Academic Procession begins. Movement in/out of the hall during the ceremony is prohibited. Nursing mothers will have reserved seating in the gallery.

Proper Attire: Students must wear gowns correctly, and female students should secure caps with hair pins. Cap tassels remain on the right side throughout the event.

Post-Ceremony Formalities: Matriculants must sign the matriculation register at their Faculties, except College of Medicine students, who sign at the conference centre. The Affidavit for the Matriculation Oath must be downloaded from the UI website, completed, and submitted to respective Faculties.
