UNIZIK Agro-Allied Cooperative Society Inaugurates New Executives, Charts Path for Agricultural Growth

The UNIZIK Agro-Allied Cooperative Society Limited (UNACOPS) successfully held its Maiden Elective General Meeting and Inauguration of Executive Committee Members on June 2, 2026, at the 2013 Assessment Building, Sports Complex, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The historic meeting brought together members of the cooperative who exercised their democratic rights in electing officers to steer the affairs of the society. The event also featured a capacity-building session aimed at equipping members with the knowledge and vision required to build a strong and sustainable cooperative enterprise.

In her inaugural address, the newly elected President, Dr. Nma Okechukwu Okoroji, expressed profound appreciation to all members for their trust and confidence. She emphasized the cooperative's mission of promoting agribusiness development, financial empowerment, wealth creation, mutual assistance, and improved welfare for members. She further outlined strategic plans geared towards cooperative growth, investment expansion, value-chain development, and increased participation by members through share capital contributions and thrift savings.

Dr. Okoroji also expressed sincere gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Bond Stanley Anyaehie, whose encouragement, support, and visionary leadership inspired the establishment of the cooperative society. Members warmly congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment as the Patron of UNACOPS, expressing confidence that his guidance and goodwill would contribute significantly to the success of the society.

The President further appreciated all members for their active participation and commitment to the cooperative's vision and charged the newly inaugurated Executive Committee to serve with integrity, transparency, dedication, and unity of purpose in advancing the objectives of the cooperative.

The ceremony was witnessed by members and stakeholders, marking the beginning of a new era of collective investment, agricultural enterprise development, and sustainable wealth creation within the university community.
