In a highly anticipated football final, 7 Platoon decisively defeated 2 Platoon with a score of 2-0, showcasing remarkable skill and teamwork. The match, held on September 19, 2024, was a testament to 7 Platoon’s exceptional performance throughout the competition, earning them the coveted football trophy.
In the volleyball finals, 5 Platoon delivered an impressive performance, overpowering 8 Platoon with a commanding 3-0 victory. The win highlighted 5 Platoon’s dominance and strategic play in the tournament, securing them the top spot in the volleyball category.
The sporting events were celebrated as a significant part of the orientation course, and the closing ceremony was marked by inspiring remarks from the NYSC Rivers State Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang. He congratulated the finalist platoons for their resilience and determination, emphasizing that a competitive spirit and perseverance are key to achieving success. “Nothing good comes easy in life,” Mr. Mfongang stated, encouraging corps members to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
