ABU Wins JAMB's N500 Million Mega Award

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU) has emerged as the overall winner of the 5th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M) and has been awarded a N500 million Mega Award by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The award was presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, by the Hon. Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmed, on July 8, 2025, in Abuja. The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, noted that the award aims to promote national unity, transparency, and healthy competition among tertiary institutions.

ABU emerged as the overall winner with an aggregate of 14 points in the overall category, comprising all five elements of the Mega Award. The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to JAMB, the institution's Governing Council, Senate, and alumni for their support in achieving this feat.

The NATAP-M award is designed to encourage national spread in the admission of candidates, promote internationalization of tertiary institutions, and bridge the gap in gender inequality by encouraging female participation in tertiary education .
