Achievers University Appoints Adebayo Olagunju as Acting Registrar

Achievers University, Owo, has appointed Mr. Adebayo Olagunju as Acting Registrar, effective February 17, 2025, following the completion of Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji’s tenure. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Omolola Irinoye announced that Mr. Olagunju would serve in an acting capacity until a substantive Registrar is appointed.

Achievers University Appoints Adebayo Olagunju as Acting Registrar

Achievers University, Owo, has appointed Mr. Adebayo Olagunju as the Acting Registrar of the institution, effective February 17, 2025. His appointment follows the completion of tenure of the outgoing Registrar, Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji, who has proceeded on end-of-tenure leave after successfully serving the university for five years.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye, made the announcement in a statement issued on February 11, 2025. She noted that the University Council directed Mr. Olagunju to assume the role of Acting Registrar pending the appointment of a substantive Registrar.

Mr. Olagunju, who joined Achievers University on May 2, 2008, as Senior Assistant Registrar (Media)/Public Relations Officer (PRO), has held several key administrative positions. He previously served as Senior Assistant Registrar/College Secretary of the College of Social and Management Sciences (COSMAS), Principal Assistant Registrar/Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and Deputy Registrar at the university’s main Registry since October 2020.

Before joining Achievers University, he worked in the Federal Civil Service and was posted to the Nigerian Air Force, where he taught at the Air Force Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos. He later moved to Tell Communications Limited, publishers of Tell magazine, where he rose to the position of Head of the Copy Desk.

A seasoned professional, Mr. Olagunju holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) in Language Arts (English) from the University of Ilorin, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, and a Master of Science in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from Babcock University. He is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The university community has extended congratulations to Mr. Olagunju on his appointment while expressing appreciation for the dedicated service of Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji, acknowledging his contributions to the institution’s growth and development.
