AKSU Releases Academic Calendar for First Semester 2025/2026 Session

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has published the official academic schedule for the first semester of the 2025/2026 session, detailing key dates for new and returning students.

The academic activities commence with the arrival of new students on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, followed by registration for new students starting Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Returning students are expected to arrive on Friday, December 5, 2025, with their registration beginning on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The Christmas break is scheduled from Friday, December 19, 2025, to Friday, January 2, 2026, after which lectures resume for all students on Monday, January 5, 2026. Orientation for new students will run from Thursday, January 15 to Friday, January 16, 2026, culminating in an interdenominational service on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Key academic deadlines include:

• Registration for all students ends: Friday, January 30, 2026
• Matriculation: Saturday, January 31, 2026
• Late registration: Monday, February 2 to Monday, February 16, 2026

Lectures will run for 13 weeks, concluding on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, followed by the Easter break from Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6, 2026. The first semester examinations will commence on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and end on Monday, April 20, 2026, with students departing on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Additional notes include:

• All final year examinations will take place in the mornings.
• Other sessional examinations will be held in the afternoons until all final year exams are completed.
• CBT and first semester examinations are scheduled for two weeks.
