Akwa Ibom State University Secures NUC Approval for Law Programme
Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has received official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish a Faculty of Law, marking a significant milestone in the institution's academic expansion.
This development brings the total number of faculties at AKSU to 11, further solidifying its commitment to providing diverse and quality education to students from Nigeria and beyond.
The NUC approval follows a thorough resource verification exercise, which assessed the university's readiness to commence the law program.
The verification process involved an evaluation of the institution's staff strength, teaching facilities, learning environment, library resources, and classroom infrastructure. Upon satisfaction with the university's preparedness, the NUC granted approval for AKSU to start the full-time Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program at its main campus from the 2025/2026 academic session.
