Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila Signs Historic MOU With Al-Ihsan College Of Health Science And Technology To Strengthen Healthcare Education

Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, AUSU, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with Al-Ihsan College of Health Science and Technology, Jega, Kebbi State, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The strategic partnership will pave the way for seamless academic progression, enabling graduates of Al-Ihsan College of Health Science and Technology to pursue specialized degree programmes in Health Sciences at AUSU.

University officials said the collaboration is designed to bridge gaps in clinical education and equip the next generation of healthcare professionals with advanced, top-tier skills.

The MOU underscores the commitment of both institutions to expanding access to quality education and strengthening the health workforce in Nigeria.

The official signing ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Kabiru Musa Alhaji; the Registrar, Usman Yakubu; and the University Librarian, Dr. Mustapha Idris.

Representing Al-Ihsan College of Health Science and Technology were the Proprietor, Dr. Biliyaminu Abubakar; the Director of Collaborations; and the Representative of the College Registrar.

Speaking at the event, the University Management noted that the partnership solidifies AUSU's mission to provide quality and accessible education, and will help raise the standard of health science education in the country.

Both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration will prepare the next generation of medical professionals to serve communities across Nigeria.
