The announcement was made by the Registrar, Dr. Johnson Ijale Echor, MNIM, MALA, who outlined the application process, programme requirements, and cut-off marks for prospective students.
Application Process
Prospective candidates who sat for the 2025/2026 JAMB UTME and meet the minimum cut-off marks are invited to apply by following these steps:
- Change their institution of choice to UAST, Ilugh, via the JAMB CAPS Portal at any accredited CBT Centre or JAMB Office.
- Ensure that their O’Level (SSCE) results are uploaded on the JAMB CAPS Portal.
- Register for the Post-UTME screening on the UAST Admissions Portal at portal.bsuast.edu.ng.
- Upload a passport photograph, O’Level results, and UTME result slip.
- Pay a non-refundable Post-UTME Screening Fee of ₦2,000.
- Print the screening acknowledgment slip for verification.
Cut-Off Marks
- Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Complementary & Alternative Medicine: 160 and above
- All Other Programmes (including Agriculture, Environmental Science, Engineering, Management, Education, etc.): 150 and above
Approved Programmes and Entry Requirements
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved various degree programmes at UAST, including but not limited to:
- Agricultural Economics & Farm Management
- Animal Science
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Industrial Chemistry
- Microbiology
- Biotechnology
- Nursing Science
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Environmental Management & Toxicology
- Public Health
Each programme requires specific UTME subject combinations and five SSCE credits, with English Language and Mathematics compulsory across all programmes.
Important Notes
- All admissions will be processed strictly through JAMB CAPS.
- Candidates must ensure their SSCE results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS to be considered.
- Provision of false information will result in deregistration and referral to law enforcement agencies.
