BUK Celebrates Historic Milestone with First Professor of Architecture, Prof. Alkali Ibrahim Abubakar

Bayero University Kano, BUK, has recorded a historic milestone in its academic journey with the elevation of Professor Alkali Ibrahim Abubakar as the institution’s first Professor of Architecture.  

Prof. Alkali’s achievement marks a significant step for the Department of Architecture and for BUK’s broader pursuit of academic excellence.

Hailing from Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State, Prof. Alkali rose from humble beginnings to earn a PhD in Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. In 2015, he was recognized as the Best Postgraduate Student at the Malaysian institution.  

Over the years, he has distinguished himself through dedicated teaching, cutting-edge research, postgraduate supervision, and numerous scholarly publications that have advanced architectural education and practice in Nigeria.
