DELSU Bans Sign-Out Parties, Warns Students of Disciplinary Sanctions

The Management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has banned “Sign-Out” parties and all forms of unruly celebrations across the University’s campuses.
The directive is particularly addressed to final-year students and comes in response to security concerns, intelligence reports and the need to safeguard lives and property during the 2025/2026 Second Semester and final-year examinations.
Management advised students to desist from any activity capable of disrupting public peace, endangering lives or compromising the security of the University community.
The University reminded students that organising or participating in such activities constitutes misconduct and attracts disciplinary sanctions, including rustication for up to two (2) semesters, in accordance with the Students’ Union Constitution and other extant University regulations.
The provision is contained on page 53 of the Delta State University, Abraka Students’ Union Constitution.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel O. Asagba, has further directed University security personnel to arrest and hand over any student found violating the directive for appropriate disciplinary action.
Management urged all students, particularly final-year students, to comply with the directive and ensure that their activities do not undermine the peace, safety and security of the University community.
