Documentaries Showed Me the Importance of Preserving History – Stephen Oluwatobi, UNILORIN Entrepreneur of the Week

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) continues to showcase the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of its students. This week, Stephen Monday Oluwatobi, a 200-level student of the Faculty of Agriculture, is celebrated as the UNILORIN Entrepreneur of the Week for his outstanding passion for photography and videography.

Stephen’s journey into photography began in 2012 after being captivated by a series of documentaries that spanned historical events, including the World Wars, cultural phenomena, and influential figures like Nelson Mandela, Benjamin Carson, and Professor Wole Soyinka. He also drew inspiration from personal and ceremonial moments such as his parents' wedding documentation.

“Documentaries showed me the importance of preserving history. They made me realize that so many events in the past remain unaccounted for due to a lack of documentation,” Stephen said.
