Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has disclaimed an unauthorized online advertisement announcing admissions into its Pharmacy programme for the 2024/2025 session.

Ekiti State University (EKSU) has issued a strong disclaimer regarding an unauthorized online advertisement circulating about the commencement of admissions into its Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2024/2025 academic session.

In a statement signed by Bode Olofinmuagun, Deputy Registrar and Head of the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, the university clarified that it has not yet initiated any admission process for its Pharmacy programme. The announcement emphasized that the claims in the online advertisement are unfounded and not endorsed by EKSU.

The university revealed that while preparations to commence the Pharmacy programme are ongoing, the necessary approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) is still pending. A recent resource verification exercise conducted by the NUC has yet to yield results, and until the programme is approved, any advertisements or claims regarding admissions remain unauthorized.

“The university is in the process of commencing the Pharmacy programme, which led to a visit by a team from the National Universities Commission for resource verification. The result of the Commission’s visit is still being awaited. Advertising a programme that has not been approved by the NUC is illegal, and Ekiti State University will not be involved in any illegality,” the statement read.

Parents, guardians, and prospective candidates were urged to disregard the false advertisement and remain cautious to avoid falling victim to scams. The university also reaffirmed its commitment to using official channels for any announcements regarding academic programmes and admissions.

EKSU Management reiterated its zero-tolerance stance towards fraudulent activities and encouraged the public to verify information directly through the university’s official communication platforms.
