FULafia VC Urges INEC to Adopt University’s E-Voting Model for National Elections

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has called on Nigeria’s electoral bodies, particularly the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to adopt the University’s electronic voting system for future elections in the country.

Prof. Kida made the appeal following the successful conduct of the Students’ Union, SU, elections for the 2026/2027 academic session, which was held entirely on a secure electronic voting platform.

Describing the exercise as a testament to the credibility of technology-driven polls, the Vice-Chancellor said the e-voting system demonstrated that elections can be transparent, peaceful, credible, and efficient.
