FUOYE VC Rewards Academic Excellence as Dr. Sunday Ajayi Bags Cash Award for High-Impact Publications

In a demonstration of leadership aimed at driving academic excellence and enhancing global visibility, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Professor Joshua O. Ogunwole, on behalf of Senate, has approved a cash prize of N500,000 for Dr. Sunday Mathew Ajayi in recognition of his outstanding research output.

Dr. Ajayi, a Lecturer II in the Department of Chemistry, was honoured with the Award of Excellence after successfully publishing eight articles in Scopus-indexed journals derived from his PhD research at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti.

The recognition highlights Professor Ogunwole's strategic initiative to elevate FUOYE's standing among peer institutions nationally and internationally. By directly rewarding scholars who publish in reputable databases like Scopus, the administration is building a strong research-driven university culture.
