FUTA Alumni Association Akure Chapter Elects New Chairman, Opeoluwa Awoyinfa
The Akure Chapter of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association has elected Comrade Opeoluwa Awoyinfa, popularly known as Opiamo, as its new Chairman.
The Akure Chapter of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association has elected Comrade Opeoluwa Awoyinfa, popularly known as Opiamo, as its new Chairman.
The election, described by participants as transparent and peaceful, was hailed as a milestone in strengthening unity and collaboration among members of the association.
In a show of sportsmanship, Awoyinfa’s opponent, Comrade Ayodeji Ajibola Ibileye, was commended for his maturity and respect for democratic values, which members noted reflected the spirit of camaraderie within the alumni community.
The Electoral Committee, chaired by Comrade Atolusi Damilola Anthony, was also praised for ensuring credibility and fairness in the process. The presence of Dr. Adesomoju Crown Olaitan, Alumni Representative in Council, was acknowledged as instrumental in fostering a conducive atmosphere for the election.

Members of the association expressed confidence in the newly elected executives, urging them to introduce innovative programmes, promote networking opportunities, and strengthen bonds within the alumni community. They also encouraged past students in Akure to identify with the chapter and contribute to the collective vision of growth and excellence.
The outcome of the election was described by the association as “a new dawn” for the Akure Chapter of the FUTA Alumni body.
