FUTA Opens 2026/2027 Postgraduate Admissions Into PGD, Master’s, M.Phil, M.Phil/Ph.D and Ph.D Programmes

The School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has announced the commencement of admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, M.Phil., M.Phil./Ph.D., and Ph.D. programmes across various disciplines.

Prospective applicants are directed to visit the School of Postgraduate Studies (PG Portal) via the university website at http://www.futa.edu.ng for detailed information on available programmes, admission requirements, duration of programmes, method of application, as well as opening and closing dates for submission of applications.

The university issued several important guidelines for applicants, including:

• A mix-up in username and password by applicants would attract extra charges
• Error in completion and submission of forms during the application process would lead to loss of application processing for the academic session (e.g. selecting MTech. instead of PGD or PhD)
• Candidates cannot transfer an unsuccessful application from one programme to another
• Statements of results of four years and above cannot be used for admission; candidates are required to obtain a certificate from the relevant examination body
• Applicants are no longer required to present ‘O’ Level results for postgraduate admissions
• All applicants are reminded that fees for application forms and acceptance are non-refundable

The university also announced that application forms will be available for completion from Monday, June 22, 2026.
