FUTES-IYIN Warns Public Against Fake Facebook Account Impersonating Vice-Chancellor
The Management of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has warned members of the public against a fraudulent Facebook account created in the name of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Olugbenga Aribisala.

The Management of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has warned members of the public against a fraudulent Facebook account created in the name of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Olugbenga Aribisala.
The University disclosed that the impersonators behind the account are using the Vice-Chancellor’s photograph as the display picture and have reportedly been contacting members of the public and individuals while posing as the Vice-Chancellor.
According to the University, the impersonators have been making procurement-related requests and communicating other false and unauthorised information under the guise of the Vice-Chancellor.
FUTES-IYIN stated unequivocally that Professor Aribisala has no connection whatsoever with the account. The University further clarified that the Vice-Chancellor does not operate a Facebook account and has not authorised anyone to create, operate or communicate on his behalf through any Facebook account.
Members of the public have therefore been advised to exercise utmost caution and disregard any message, request, solicitation or communication originating from the fraudulent account or any other unauthorised social media account purporting to represent the Vice-Chancellor.
The University also clarified that the Vice-Chancellor is not responsible for the institution’s procurement processes. All procurement-related enquiries, requests and official communications should instead be directed to the Directorate of Procurement through the appropriate official channels.
The public has further been advised not to make payments, release funds, share sensitive information or enter into any transaction based on instructions purportedly issued by the Vice-Chancellor through unofficial channels.
FUTES-IYIN urged members of the public to rely only on the University’s official communication channels for information concerning the Vice-Chancellor and the institution.
