The Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) Chess Team organized a successful chess tournament on December 2, 2025, at the Senate Chamber as part of the university's 16th Convocation Ceremony activities.

The event was a key highlight of the convocation sports program, attracting participants and dignitaries, including Vice-Chancellor Professor O.A. Fakolujo and Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor O.F. Adedayo.

The tournament showcased the university's commitment to promoting intellectual and strategic games, providing a platform for students to demonstrate their skills and sportsmanship. The convocation ceremony, scheduled for December 5, 2025, will feature the conferment of honorary degrees, award of higher degrees, and presentation of prizes to outstanding students.
