Joseph Ayo Babalola University Inducts 79 Students into Nursing Profession

Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) on Friday September 19, 2025 during it's second induction and oath taking ceremony inducted 79 students into the noble profession of nursing and midwifery.

The ceremony, held at the Oba Oladele Olashore Auditorium, marked a significant milestone in the students' academic and professional journey.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olasebikan Alade Fakolujo, charged the inductees to uphold the core principles of excellence, integrity, and service to humanity. He noted that the nursing profession is not just about skill, but about serving humanity.

Notably, 10 of the inductees graduated with first-class honors, and each received four certificates: Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Bachelor of Nursing Science degree, and Competence Certification in Entrepreneurship.

The induction ceremony featured a lecture by Prof. Christiana Olanrewaju Sowunmi, Dean of the School of Nursing at Babcock University with the theme, "Navigating Your Path in Nursing: Opportunities and Growth Factors."

 Additionally, Dr. Oyadiran Gifty Oluyemi Gboyesola was honored with the prestigious title of Elder of Nursing.

The Registrar/CEO of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Ndagi Al-Hassan, ably represented by Dr. Modupe Ayoola, officiated the induction ceremony.
