The Management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, KHAIRUN, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, has honoured members of staff with awards and certificates of recognition at the 2025 Staff Performance Award Ceremony, in appreciation of their dedication, selfless service, and invaluable contributions to the growth and success of the University.
The award ceremony, which brought together members of the University community, celebrated outstanding staff drawn from various academic and non-academic units whose commitment, professionalism, and exemplary service have significantly contributed to the steady progress of the institution.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Director, Proprietors' Office, commended the visionary leadership of the University Management for institutionalising a culture of recognising excellence and rewarding hard work. He applauded the unwavering commitment of members of staff towards the advancement of KHAIRUN and urged the Management to continue prioritising staff welfare as a means of sustaining productivity, motivation, and institutional excellence.
The University Bursar, Dr. Naja'atu Bala Rabiu, delivered a paper on the Benefits of Worker Appreciation and Recognition in Organisational Growth. She emphasized that recognising employees' dedication, commitment, and outstanding performance serves as a powerful tool for enhancing motivation, improving productivity, fostering loyalty, and strengthening institutional excellence. According to her, a culture of appreciation not only inspires staff to give their best but also promotes teamwork, innovation, and sustained organisational development.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, expressed profound appreciation to the Proprietors' Office, the University Management, and every member of staff for their dedication, loyalty, and relentless efforts in advancing the vision and mission of the University.

He acknowledged that the remarkable achievements recorded by the University are products of collective sacrifice, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence. The Vice-Chancellor paid special tribute to the Principal Officers, describing them as the "wheels" that have continually supported him in steering the affairs of the University with dedication, wisdom, and professionalism.
In a remarkable gesture of appreciation, Professor Garba presented specially designed roll-up banners to the Principal Officers in recognition of their resilience, commitment, and unwavering support towards the continued growth and development of the University.
Delivering a vote of appreciation on behalf of the academic staff, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Ado Dan-Isa, expressed sincere gratitude to the University Management for recognising the efforts of staff members. He described the initiative as a morale booster that would further inspire excellence, commitment, and greater productivity across the institution.
Similarly, Maryam Nuhu Jallah, Director Student Affairs, speaking on behalf of the non-academic staff, appreciated the Management for acknowledging the invaluable roles played by staff in the University's development. She noted that the recognition demonstrates that dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, while reaffirming the commitment of non-academic staff to continue supporting the University's pursuit of excellence.
