As part of strategic efforts to enhance practical training and industry readiness, the management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Office, has conducted a comprehensive orientation programme for its 200-level students.
The initiative aims to prepare the undergraduate students for their upcoming mandatory industrial attachment exercise by bridging the gap between theoretical classroom learning and real-world corporate expectations.

Delivering the opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN emphasized that SIWES serves as a vital conduit for students to acquire relevant technical skills, imbibe professional work ethics, and build professional networks.
He charged the students to be exemplary ambassadors of the institution by maintaining high standards of discipline and excellence throughout their various industrial placements.
Earlier in the event, the KHAIRUN SIWES Coordinator, Dr. Bello Imamuddeen, welcomed the participants and expressed appreciation to both the university leadership and the ITF for their unwavering support in institutionalizing practical education.
He urged the students to strictly adhere to all established SIWES guidelines and leverage the orientation insights for a hitch-free placement process. The event featured detailed technical presentations from visiting ITF officials, who educated the students on the fundamental objectives of the scheme, operational procedures, logbook documentation, and the reciprocal responsibilities shared between interns and host organizations.
