Kwara State University Students Narrowly Escape Bus Fire

A group of students from Kwara State University, Malete, narrowly escaped a potentially disastrous situation when the bus they were traveling in caught fire on Ilorin-Sobi Road on Wednesday morning.

The Kwara State Fire Service responded swiftly to the incident, extinguishing the blaze near Sobi Barracks. Unfortunately, the 18-seater bus was completely destroyed.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a spark in the engine compartment triggered the fire, which quickly spread and engulfed the entire vehicle.

The Director of the State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged motorists to perform regular vehicle checks to prevent such incidents. He extended sympathy to the bus owner and emphasized the importance of preventive maintenance.
