KWASU AI Director Joins Nigeria AI Trust Stakeholder Workshop

The Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Kwara State University (KWASU), Dr. AbdulWaheed Musa, has been selected to participate in the Nigeria AI Trust Stakeholder Workshop scheduled to hold in Lagos on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Kwara State University (KWASU), Dr. AbdulWaheed Musa, has been selected to participate in the Nigeria AI Trust Stakeholder Workshop scheduled to hold in Lagos on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The workshop will bring together 50 selected experts and thought leaders from academia, industry, government and civil society to contribute to the institutional design of Nigeria's proposed National AI Trust.

The initiative is being led by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy with support from Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) and the MacArthur Foundation. It builds on the recent international co-creation workshop held at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, London.

Dr. Musa is expected to contribute to discussions aimed at developing a sustainable, independent and globally competitive artificial intelligence governance framework for Nigeria.

His participation follows his leadership of KWASU's Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, where he has overseen several initiatives, including the development of the University's Artificial Intelligence Policy, which has been ratified by the Senate.

Dr. Musa, an Associate Professor with expertise in wireless communication, artificial intelligence and renewable energy, is an award-winning academic with extensive international experience in research, mentoring, leadership and consultancy.
