KWASU Appoints Professor Salau as Director of Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation

Kwara State University (KWASU) has appointed Professor Shehu Abdulganiyu Salau as the Director of the Centre for Agricultural Sustainability and Transformation, effective immediately.

The appointment was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Alade Jimoh, and conveyed in a letter dated November 18, 2025, and signed by the Registrar.

Professor Salau, a renowned expert in Agricultural Economics, brings over 15 years of experience in tertiary education, research administration, and rural/community development to his new role. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics, alongside two master's degrees: MBA and MSc. in Agricultural Economics, all from the University of Ilorin.

With a impressive track record, Professor Salau has served in various academic and administrative capacities at KWASU, including Head of Department, Sub-Dean, ASUU Chairman, and Member of several high-level university and national committees. He has also led and participated in significant research projects funded by TETFund, focusing on agricultural production economics, food security, rural development, climate resilience, and sustainable agricultural systems .

Professor Salau's appointment is a testament to his outstanding contributions to agricultural science and policy, institutional governance, curriculum innovation, and capacity building, as evidenced by his over 290 Google Scholar citations and more than 50 peer-reviewed publications.
