LASU Showcases Student Innovation at 2026 ENT 312 Practical Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Fair

Lagos State University, LASU, has reaffirmed its commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation and skills development with the hosting of the 2026 edition of its annual ENT 312 Practical Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Fair.  

The event held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Buba Marwa Auditorium Car Park, Ojo Campus, featured innovative products, business ideas, and vocational projects developed by 300-level undergraduate students from the Ojo and Ikeja campuses during the 2025/2026 academic session. The exhibition also served as the end-of-semester examination for the course.  

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Ayo Ayodele, said the rapidly evolving global economy demands graduates who are innovative, adaptable, and equipped with practical skills. He noted that LASU remains committed to producing entrepreneurs, innovators and problem-solvers through investment in experiential learning, modern skills acquisition facilities, and industry-relevant entrepreneurship education.

Professor Ayodele highlighted key achievements of the current administration, including the construction of twin Skills Acquisition Workshop Buildings, decentralisation of the annual exhibition to the Epe Campus, and the procurement of industry-standard equipment through Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, interventions.  

In his welcome address, the Director of the Directorate of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, DSDE, Professor Habeeb Sanni, described the exhibition as a celebration of creativity, innovation, and resilience. He added that LASU’s entrepreneurship curriculum equips students with practical competencies and positions them to benefit from entrepreneurship initiatives under the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, scheme.

The fair showcased innovations across 36 entrepreneurial and vocational skill areas, including information technology, renewable energy, agribusiness, leather works, fashion design, graphics, digital marketing, printing and branding, and other commercially viable ventures.  

A major highlight was the presentation of Awards of Excellence by DSDE to principal officers of the University for their support for entrepreneurship education.

The Vice-Chancellor was also presented with a commemorative framed portrait and a customised photographic album chronicling the infrastructural growth and institutional transformation of LASU during her administration.  

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, FSPSP, later visited the venue on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor to show support for the Directorate. Students, grouped into skills-based teams, were subsequently assessed by examiners based on their products.  

The 2026 ENT 312 Practical Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Fair further reinforced LASU’s reputation as a leading institution for entrepreneurship education and graduate employability in Nigeria.
